Maestro is a duo. Comprised of Mark “The Butcher” Kerr (the band’s Scottish singer and previously a member of hard rock band Gun, short-lived analogue-kraut-noise group Jackos, and Joakim’s band The Disco) and Fred “The Mad Scientist” Soulard (the band’s French technical wiz), Maestro make scuzzy dance music – or dancey scuzz music? – and debuted on the label in 2010 with A War Zone. Together they produced their first album “Mountains of Madness” to be released worldwide on the 16th of March. Maestro’s music is probably the most difficult to put into words Tigersushi has released so far. It’s the No in No Wave, the Post in Post Punk.
Maestro incarnation on stage will be a threesome with the addition of Antoine ‘The Beast’ on drums. A live show between your unspoken dreams and your worst nightmares, dark, extatic and visceral.
Artist: Etherwood
Release: You’ll Always Be a Part of Me
Label: Medschool Music
Genre: Dance
Etherwood offers the first glimpse into his highly-anticipated second album with a brand new single on Med School. Instantly captivating, “You’ll Always Be A Part Of Me” is a three-minute escape that exudes the polished Etherwood essence that we’ve come to expect, surrounded by symphonic melodies and emotive lyrics. His own instantly-recognisable vocals are accompanied by poignant piano chords and downtempo percussion, creating a powerful yet simultaneously elegant and melancholic piece.
Etherwood’s self-titled debut album culminated in widespread acclaim and several accolades including Best Newcomer DJ and Producer at the Drum & Bass Arena Awards. It demonstrated a hint of his musical prowess, but “You’ll Always Be a Part of Me” clearly illustrates how his skills as a songwriter and musician have flourished since then. 2014 was an extremely important year for this continually-growing artist as he delivered stunning remixes for the likes of Gorgon City and Alex Clare and contributed vocals to Fred V & Grafix’s “Forest Fires” which shot up the BBC Radio 1 playlist. Etherwood also assembled a live band to perform a number of tracks from his debut album at the iconic Maida Vale Studio for broadcast on BBC Radio 1 & 1Xtra.
Following on from the incredibly well received “Amen Roadtrip” released in January as part of Hospital Records’ “Hospitality 2015″ compilation, this new single is reminiscent of Etherwood’s signature sound and embodies his unique ability to combine the organic with the electronic whilst moving several significant steps forward.
